I am Banba, one of the three great sovereignty goddesses of Ireland, alongside Ériu and Fótla. In mythology, we were invoked to bless and protect the land, to embody its strength and endurance. I represent power, grounding, and the unyielding bond between earth and people.
Lena Snow painted me during a time of personal turmoil, when she herself had been the victim of fraud. Out of that wound, I was born in strong red, marked with archaic symbols carved across my back. My body is turned away, my face unseen, leaving only the trace of mystery and power to meet your gaze. The choice not to reveal my face is deliberate: it asks you to see beyond appearances, to feel strength not in expression but in essence.
I am both ancient and immediate, carrying the resilience of the land and the endurance of those who walk upon it. My markings recall forgotten knowledge and primal power, yet my silence and hidden face remind you that true strength often lies unseen.
