I am Nantosuelta, my name flowing like a stream, “sun-drenched valley” they once called me. I carry within me the fire of fertility and the bounty of the earth, yet I am also the winding waters that nourish and renew.
In this artwork Lena Snow paints me with vibrant colors — orange at my core, alive with warmth and power, surrounded by hues of blue, yellow, and white. These tones shimmer together to reflect the duality of my being: the fertile ground and the flowing river, the nurturing mother and the fierce protector. I am often remembered through images of the round house, the crow, and the hive — symbols of abundance, transformation, and community. Here, my presence shines through color itself, radiating life, resilience, and connection to the natural world.
I exist at the threshold between fire and water, between the battlefield and the hearth. To look upon me is to be reminded of the endless cycles of life: destruction and renewal, grief and growth, endings and beginnings.
